Knitting in the Fall

Image

I love the fall… I live in New Jersey and take joy in watching the leaves’ color change from crisp greens to burnt oranges and yellows. The cool weather slowly rolls in to. Alas, my desire to knit lacey shawls and sleeves sweaters changes too. Autumn makes me think of cozy cowls, extra long scarves, warm alpaca sweaters and fun knitted accessories. Fall would feel bare without having a cozy crocheted afghan in the works as well.

Our attic shelves are overflowing with gorgeous yarns representing Autumn. Yellows are bursting through the endless shades of greens, reds and oranges we love to stock up on this time of year. Knitted and crocheted items are treasurers and anyone would be honored to receive a project as a holiday gift.

One of the hottest yarns this season is NORO’s new chunky yarn, “OBI“. The colors are typical NORO with some subtle light colors for even more depth. OBI is featured in NORO’s magazine, “Sweet Winter“.

It wouldn’t;t be fall without having Misti Alpaca Yarns on our shelves. From Hand Paint Sock to solid Chunky and Hand Paint Chunky we cannot get enough of indulging.

The Yarn Attic is excited to be participating in Dream in Color’s “Color Club“. Beginning in September and running through February, each club member receives 1 hank of a one-time colorway of one of Dream in Color’s gorgeous yarns. Clubs may be purchased by the month or as a 6 month subscription, which includes free shipping. So far, the club has received patterns for a unique sweater, men’s patterned socks, a stunning shawl and…. check back on December 1st to hear what Dream in Color’s pattern is for December!

So, instead of running off to the mall and fighting traffic and crowds, checkout our selection of knitting and crocheting kits, as well as our selection of unique accessories for that special someone in your life. Who wouldn’t want a new craft bag for their WIPs? I know I would!!!

The Yarn Attic wishes everyone a very happy and festive Thanksgiving!
