Autumn Tango

Autumn Tango

Tango-Full

As with many people I love the fall and everything about it. Large comfy sweaters come back in vogue, apple picking with the family, and, of course, the infamous Pumpkin Spice Lattes are just a few of the many reasons that the fall season has a special hold on many of our hearts. But to often I find this season too fleeting, it never can come soon enough and to often yields to the winter too easily. But with this beautiful pattern by Diana Rozenshteyn I’ve found a way to hold on autumn for just a little while longer.

This beautiful scarf was made with a mixture of two lovely Shibui Yarn; Pebble and Linen in the colors: Poppy and Scale respectively. These two colors blended together perfectly to create a lovely color that will be reminiscent of the fall foliage even long after it is gone. This project took about 30 hours to complete and I would rate it at about an intermediate level. The techniques that were utilized are provisional cast-on, twisted stitches (modified cable), and row counting.

This beautiful scarf pattern features leafy side borders and mitered bottom leaf edges. The pattern is available in both written and chart form. I recommend a DK to worsted weight yarn for this pattern. When knitting this piece I decided to mix together two Shibui Yarns for a greater depth of color. When mixing together various Shibui Yarns it is called “Shibui Mix”. Mixing together different yarn weights and fibers is a lot of fun to play with and can lead to beautiful, and surprising FO’s.
